How MatMetrics Ranks Wrestlers
MatMetrics rankings are built on the Glicko-2 rating system, which evaluates every wrestler based on the strength of their opponents and the margin of their results β not just raw win-loss records. A wrestler who beats top-rated competition climbs faster than one who rolls through a soft schedule, and a single bad loss against a strong opponent doesn't drag a rating the way it would in a record-only system.
You can filter the table below by division, weight class, state, and gender. The default view is the season-to-date list, sorted by current Glicko-2 rating. Each wrestler card links to a full profile with rating history, recent matches, head-to-head rivals, and weight-class context. For an explanation of the math behind the ratings, see our ratings methodology guide and our deep-dive on Glicko-2.
